Amber Riley to Sing the National Anthem at the MLB All-Star Game
Last year, the cast of Glee sang the National Anthem at the World Series, but this year the spotlight is on Amber Riley. The 24-year-old L.A. native will be performing 'The Star-Spangled Banner' at the 2010 Major League Baseball All-Star game all by herself. As super fans know by her portrayal as Mercedes Jones on the hit Fox series, Amber's got an incredible voice and will undoubtedly nail her rendition of the notoriously difficult song.
But we're wondering why the talented actress was asked to appear alone at the celebrated event. Could this be a clue that her solo album may finally be on its way?
Matthew Morrison's record is due out this fall, and with so many amazing singers on the cast of the show, we expect more solo CDs to be released in the not-so-distant future. We can't wait to find out who's next.
Amber will be joined by many A-list celebs at the All-Star game, including Colbie Caillat, who will sing 'God Bless America.' The performance will be broadcast on Fox (naturally) on Tuesday, July 13 at 8 p.m. ET, so set your DVRs, Gleeks!

If you can't sing like the members of William McKinley's glee club, you can at least dress like them.
