The New York Times recently published a piece on Nick Jonas and Care Bears On Fire, both of whom performed in New York City last Thursday. Nick headlined the Beacon Theater, which seats around 2,000 people, and CBOF played Cake Shop, a small venue that sells coffee and records upstairs, but holds live shows in its basement.

Nick's bluesy pop sounds nothing like Care Bears On Fire pop-punk sound, and the venues they played last week are on opposite sides of the scale in terms of size, but the New York Times says the two performers are actually really similar -- they're both talented young artists, who want to show off their skills and influences.

Selena Gomez and The Scene and Justin Bieber are co-headlining the Pop-Con music festival in Uniondale, NY on February 20. Push Play, Care Bears on Fire, Nat and Alex Wolff and Mercy Mercedes are also set to perform at the all-day concert.

The multi-stage event will also feature games, family-friendly amenities and a "Culture Mall" with plenty of t-shirts and accessories from companies like Glamour Kills and Babycakes. In addition, Pop-Con will offer lectures, seminars and for "young, aspiring artists, actors and actresses looking to get advice from top industry professionals and stars of sport and screen."

True fans of CBOF love the girls for their unique sense of style.We recently caught up with Sophie, Izzy and Jena and asked them what their fave school threads were...and why.

Izzy: "I usually just wear a similar outfit to what I would wear to a show but a bit more toned down, like a giant faux fur coat with sneakers and a canvas bag. I would hate to go to a uniform school because I love to wear crazy clothes to school, but tee shirts, jeans, and boots are definitely staples in my school wardrobe."

Brooklyn pop-punkers Care Bears On Fire have a brand-new video! The girls have just released a video for 'Barbie Eat a Sandwich,' which was inspired by a family trip, Izzy says.

"The inspiration for this song came from a visit to a toy store in Delaware with my family," she tells JSYK. "We were in the doll section and I noticed that all the dolls were tiny, anorexic, their necks were as thin as their thighs. I found this super messed up and wrote the title 'Barbie Eat a Sandwich' in my notebook."
