Kristen Stewart Calls Herself "A Crazy Cat Lady"

Kristen Stewart's dating Robert Pattinson, but there's another guy in her life who she considers herself "obsessed with."

Who's the mystery man that stole Kristen's heart? Her cat Max, who's pretty much her BFF.

"I'm so boring. No I am. I sit in my house with my cat. I'm a crazy cat lady, just give me a couple of years," Kristen dishes.

Max travels to stay close to his famous owner -- although it doesn't seem like he's the biggest fan of flying. KStew spills, "I really like him. It's frustrating when you travel, though, and especially because my cat is insane. He sits in a carrier under the seat in front of me on a plane, but it's really not cool to have him in the cabin because he screams and rips his claws out."

Rob's an animal hugger and lover, too, and adores his pooch named Patty Pattinson. Do you think this famous couple arranged a pet play date yet?

Dog Running for Governor in Texas. Yes, You Read That Right

Now this is a political campaign with real bite.

Woodrow, a hound mix, is going up against Democrat Bill White and Republican Rick Perry for the Texas Governor's seat. His slogan, "How ruff could it be?" has already won him an endorsement from Kinky Friedman, a human who formerly had a bid in for Governor himself.

The pooch's Web site calls him "a loyal, loving, fair, honest candidate for Governor" and continues, "Isn't that what Texas needs? Woodrow never a met a dog he didn't like. Once homeless and down on his luck in the animal shelter, he wants to show Texans that great things can happen to anyone, even dogs, when given a chance."

The goal of Woodrow's campaign is to bring attention to animals who are in desperate need of a home. Woodrow's owner, Lorri Michel, is using his political career to raise money for Austin Pets Alive, an organization of volunteers who daily rescue as many animals as they can from a local shelter's kill list.

Pit Bulls in Denver are Euthanized Because of Their Breed

In Denver, Colorado, an ordinance has been in effect since 1989 that bans pit bulls or any mix breed pooch with a majority of pit bull physical traits from the city. In the past five years, over a thousand pit bulls have been euthanized.

The reasoning was that removing this "dangerous" breed would result in fewer cases of animal bites. But that's not what happened. From 1995 to 2006, Denver still had close to six times more dog bite hospitalizations than Colorado's no-breed-ban Boulder County.

Now a simple postcard could help change the way these animals are treated.

Dog lover Maggie Marton, creator of ohmydogblog.com, founded Operation Denver. She's hoping to collect over 10,000 postcards to send to the city's mayor, John W. Hickenloper. Together, these postcards would add up to one mile's worth of written support and Maggie wants to send them all at once so it's impossible for the mayor's office to ignore this issue.

Miles King Talks to JSYK About Saving Animals

Miles King is a teen helping his Kentucky community one animal at a time. Seeing how the economy devastated families, Miles founded The Critters Cupboard to provide free pet food to people struggling financially.

"I get about 8 to 10 calls a month," the 18-year-old says about local residents reaching out to him for help. Someday, Miles says, "I would like to get the food bank as big as I can and expand to more counties."

So far, Miles has helped over 50 hungry animals. "I think it would be higher if I could get my name out there more." As a step in the right direction, the teen created a Facebook page for the food bank.

For now, Miles works alone at The Critters Cupboard, which survives on donations. Some weeks Miles will receive 4 or 5 items, but other times he won't receive any. Despite not having a staff to assist him, Miles personally delivers the animal food to peoples' homes instead of having them pick it up.

'Glee's' Heather Morris Pledges Her Support to End Puppy Mills

You walk past a pet store in the mall and there's an adorable puppy inside. You first think about how stinkin' cute the pooch is, but Heather Morris -- who plays ditzy cheerleader Brittany on Glee -- wants you to be aware of the sad background the young dog has already endured.

Puppy mills' main focus is breeding as many dogs as possible for profit. As you can imagine, many of the animals are forced to spend their whole lives in cramped and unsanitary cages. The saddest part is that these puppy factories are actually legal.

That's why the Humane Society of the United States is asking the public for their support in ending such horrid conditions for these dogs. Puppy mills make most of their profits from selling animals to pet shops and Internet site. To take action, Heather signed the Human Society's Stop Puppy Mills Pledge.

So Adorable! Get Your Free Puppy Hugs

Who needs a puppy cam when you can enjoy the real deal?

In Palmetto, FL, the public is invited to the Southeastern Guide Dogs campus -- a school that trains dogs to aid the visually impaired -- to cuddle and play with their six to nine week old puppies.

Best. Idea. Ever.

Patsy French, development director for the school, says that the purpose of their puppy hugging program "is to socialize the puppies and to expose them to as many different people and voices [as possible]."

Five days a week, people can gather at 9 a.m. to pet and play with 25 to 30 puppies.

"It's wonderful for (them) to meet all these people, to have contact with big people and little people, and people with soft voices and loud voices, people of various ages," Patsy explains. "Our goal is to create as many interaction opportunities as possible."
