With her bubbly Hannah Montana persona behind her, Miley Cyrus is taking her career down a darker path. The 17-year-old is heavily considering playing a distraught teen in a paranormal thriller. Miley was offered the leading part in the movie adaptation of Lisa McMann's popular novel Wake. In the book, 17-year-old Janie gets unexpectedly pulled into other people's dreams. But danger chases the teen when she's stuck in a frightening nightmare.
Does Wake sound like it has the chops to follow in Twilight's supernatural footsteps?
The book is the first of three best-sellers, and should Miley lead this film to become a box office success, Wake could be the start of a paranormal franchise. Paramount and MTV Films have already secured the rights to the book's sequels Fade and Gone.

Hell No!!! I have read this entire series and I know for a fact that she cannot pull of the attitude and persona that Janie oozes. I think Miley should just stick to her bubblegum pop stuff cuz thats all she'll ever do.

Haven't read this book and I don't care to either, I also don't think it is a good fit for Miley; she can do much better waiting for the right movie role to come to her. I pray she will see this comment and realize she is a beautiful singer with very good acting ability and can afford to find HER beginning acting movie career.

i thnk that how miley get frightened but i think that it is okay though because i still like her so..... and plus everybody gets stage fright.

No way she would not make a good "Janie" I mean yeah she can act but come on she is going to ruin the movie and book just like Kristen Stewart did for Twilight. Kristen can act too yeah but she doesnt look like "in love with Edward" Ashely Green would have made a perfect "Bella". But oh well and yeah thats a great deal for Miley Cyrus and if she does take the role...good luck for her..

is that the only way she gets roles. if her mom is producing...wow talk about connections. this girl has had everything handed to her on a platter. lucky lucky lucky!
this will be interesting to see her do a scary role....i cant c the potential yet but who knows, hair and make-up can do lots to make a character come alive. hope she brings stronger skills than the last song. that was a good start but she needs to push even farther and work even harder.

Miley would be perfect for the role! thats because she can actually act..its not like you people would be able too. for those who hate her, u hate her because she is gonna be more successful than you people will ever be..i personally love miley so, let her be and let her live her life the way she wants to.

Trust me, it's not that we're jeleous. Also, you don't know if any of us can act better than Miley Cyrus. Honestly, I think she's okay at acting. But that's it; she's not a great actress. I also do not believe she's had to work as hard as other people who are in the same/similar situation(s). I'm not saying other people didn't have to work, but I'd rather focus on her. If my mother was the producer, she'd try to get me roles too. But ending my random rant-ish response, she should control her 'image' before doing anything else.

no, we hate her because she's ruining her life and her career. Her parents aren't doing anything to stop...she's bein an idiot, and she's turnin into her own freaky version of linsey lohan + brittany speers (no offense to them, brittany is OK now, and i hope linsey is gettin better)

ok well maybe she can act a lil but i dont care she tries to hard to have a rough side and i think she will not be able to pull it off..i personally hate her but just her and its not jealously trust me the only i have to jealous of is her money thats its..i hate her cuz she has totally abandoned her younger fans her want to be just like her and shes being a horrible role model for them..i use to like her and sure ppl make mistakes but i dont forgive for nothing anymore i have no respect for her..i still like her old music and clothes but i dont like her.
