Emma Watson to Star in 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower'?

Emma Watson may be saying goodbye to Hermione, but she's also saying hello to a whole new chapter in her career. The 20-year-old actress is considering taking a part in the movie adaptation of The Perks of Being a Wallflower, her first big role outside of the Harry Potter series.

Stephen Chbosky's 1999 novel is told by a teenage outcast named Charlie, using a series of letters written to an unnamed person. Percy Jackson and the Olympians star Logan Lerman is in talks to take on the lead role, while Emma is looking at playing Charlie's friend and love interest Sam.

Although the book is a young adult novel, it touches upon controversial topics, which have put the title on the American Library Association's top ten most frequently challenged books of the year five times in 11 years. The movie will certainly be a mature turn for both Emma and Logan's careers, but it will be interesting to see them break out of their fictional molds.
