Enough is Enough: Decisions Need to Be Made About 'Breaking Dawn'

Eclipse is scheduled to come out on June 30, just seven months after the release of New Moon. If we go by this example, Breaking Dawn would be released at the top of 2011, but production has not yet begun and execs still haven't decided whether the movie will be one or two films.

Also, Breaking Dawn still doesn't have a director. Gus Van Sant, Sofia Coppola and Bill Condon have been approached about the project, but no one has stepped up to the plate. However, all three directors have Kristen Stewart's seal of approval.

"I'm glad that's out and about," Kristen told MTV.com about the news of the potential filmmakers. "I didn't know that was something that people knew. I think it's awesome. I think it's so cool that they're reaching [out to these directors]. I think any one of those people would be great."

So what's the hold up? Stephenie Meyer clearly stated that she wants there to be two films and Kristen also said she's "down" for two. Those are two heavily weighted opinions. Also, the clock is ticking. It's time to get a director to sign on the dotted line. If execs want to capitalize on the momentum of the Twilight films, they can't wait too long to put Breaking Dawn out. At most, one year between Eclipse and the last installment of the series would be acceptable. Any longer than that and they'll have to answer to some very restless Twihards.

How long will you wait for 'Breaking Dawn'?
