All parents embarrass their kids at some point, right? But did First Lady Michelle Obama went too far when she publicly talked about her daughters' bodies?"I thought my kids were perfect -- they are and always will be -- but [the doctor] warned that he was concerned that something was getting off balance," she said recently while speaking on the topic of childhood obesity. "It's often hard to see changes in your own kids when you're living with them day in and day out. But we often simply don't realize that those kids are our kids, and our kids could be in danger of becoming obese."
Sasha Obama and Malia Obama seem like active and healthy kids to us, so Mrs. Obama's comments came as a bit of a surprise. But we're sure her intentions were good. The First Lady is taking initiative to combat the problem of childhood obesity in America by giving students access to healthy foods at schools, providing kids more ways to get active, and giving parents information to make smart choices for their families.
