Taylor Swift Wins Big at the 2009 American Music Awards

Taylor Swift took home five American Music Awards last night, including the biggest honor of the evening, Artist of the Year. The 19-year-old superstar beat out Kings of Leon, Lady Gaga, Eminem and the late Michael Jackson, who were also nominated in the category.

"Music has never been, ultimately, about competition," Taylor said in her Artist of the Year acceptance speech. "To even be mentioned in a category with Michael Jackson -- who we'll miss and love forever -- is an unimaginable honor."

"And to the fans, you have given me so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving, and I hope you guys have an awesome Thanksgiving. I miss and I love you."

Taylor, who accepted all her awards via video since she's in London right now, also won for favorite female artist in two categories - pop/rock and country - as well as favorite adult contemporary artist and favorite country album for 'Fearless.'

Congrats, Taylor!
