Volterra, Italy Becomes 'New Moon' Tourist Spot

Thanks to Stephenie Meyer's popular vampire book series, Forks, Washington has become a major Twi-fan destination, but now New Moon junkies have another place to check out -- Volterra, Italy.
Fans are swarming to the Tuscan town to retrace Bella and Edward's steps in one of the most unforgettable locations of the forthcoming movie. One small problem though - the scenes from the movie were actually shot in Montepulciano, Italy (about 70 miles away)! Who cares though, it's still beautiful!!
In addition to a Twilight-themed map of the city, Volterra's tourism office has developed a New Moon weekend getaway package, which includes a walking tour called "Hot on the Trail of Edward and Bella," Twilight souvenirs and a re-enactment of one of the scenes from the book!
"It was a real surprise for us. We didn't expect it," Paolo Paterni, head of the Volterra Tourism Board tells USA Today. "Volterra is a slow city. You have to live in it in a slow way. Our main aim is to direct (visitors) in the city without overrunning it."
Start planning your trip now!
